The Arch Binder is an elastic wrap similar to an ace bandage that slips over the midfoot and is worn around the arch, offering compression and support in a simple sleeve. The cotton-covered bandage gently compresses, braces, and lifts sagging or displaced foot bones into an improved structural position. The Arch Binder is great for flat feet, painful arches, and pain in the midfoot caused by midfoot sprains, metatarsal stress fractures, and midfoot osteoarthritis. For proper sizing, please measure the circumference of the mid-foot and use the following chart:

Small is for measurements of 18-19 cm or 7-7.5 inches
Medium is for measurements of 20-21 cm or 7.5-8.5 inches
Large is for measurements of 22-23 cm or 8.5+ inches

Indications - Arch Binders are used in the care and treatment of mid-foot arthritis, arch pain, metatarsal fractures, metatarsalgia, and mid-foot sprains. This also is a great brace to wear after Lisfranc's joint injuries.

Question:

I have had flat feet since birth. When I spend a lot of time on my feet they get really sore. Would the Arch Binder help with the pain I am having?

Answer:

The Arch Binder would be a good option. It offers compression and support to the arch helping arch pain.

Question:

I have a nonunion avulsion fracture of the 5th metatarsal. At times it is completely asymptomatic. occasionally i will aggravated while it running or cutting and the pain is very intense. Will this product help support the fracture to either prevent aggravations or decrease pain? I was also looking at the forefoot compression sleeve. Would you recommend either of them for my condition?

Answer:

The arch binder would encompass the base of the 5th metatarsal and would likely help with an avulsion fracture like you describe. The forefoot compression sleeve would be a better choice for metatarsal stress fractures near the metatarsal head (forefoot).

Question:

I have plantar fasciitis and my Podatrist recommended purchasing arch binders. I need to know exactly what type I should purchase.

Answer:

Be sure to visit our conditions pages for plantar fasciitis. I think that'll help you understand why perhaps an arch binder would not be as good of choice as a heel lift for plantar fasciitis.

I have moderately painful plantar fibromatosis. The pain worsens when the surrounding tissue becomes inflamed, and I wonder if an arch binder would help prevent inflamation

Plantar fibromatosis can be difficult to treat with conservative measures like the arch binder. But if you're looking to avoid surgery, the arch binder is worth a try.

I work from home and I'm barefoot most of the time. I've never really had a diagnosis of what my foot problem is, but my arches just ache. Will the arch binder work while barefoot?

Answer:

This Arch Binder actually works quite well while going barefoot, as it stays in place on its own. Can be worn both with or without socks.

Question:

Do you sell arch binders to fit a childs foot? My daughters has a pair that measure 3 inch across. These fit her but one is starting to rip. I bought a pair off the shelf at the store that measure about 3 1/2 inch and they don't give her enough support.

Answer:

Our Small Arch Binder is 7" around, which would be too big for your daughter. The manufacturer (Pedifix)does not make a smaller size.

I'm suffering from plantar fasciitis. Will the arch binder help?
