The Achilles Heel Pad is a soft gel protection pad built into a comfortable, stretchy fabric support sleeve that protects the Achilles tendon and back of the heel from friction while offering gentle compression and reducing pressure around sore areas, reducing heel pain. Washable and reusable, each padded sleeve can be worn over and over again. The thin, slip-on design makes it ideal for use in most shoe styles. Universal right/left. By Myfootshop.com. 1/pkg.

Sizing:

  • S/M: Women & Men.
  • L/XL: Men or Women. The main difference between sizes is the length of the gel from top to bottom vs. the diameter of the sleeve.

Indications - The Achilles Heel Pad is used in the treatment of Achilles tendonitis, rehabilitation of Achilles tendon tears, calcaneal bursitis, heel pain, and Haglund's deformity (pump bump.)

Foot Care Tip! - Heel position significantly affects Achilles tendinitis. Low-heeled shoes and going barefoot increase the mechanical load applied by calf muscles to the Achilles tendon. Be sure your treatment plan for Achilles tendinitis includes avoiding low-heeled shoes and going barefoot. A heel lift worn with the Achilles Heel Pad can cut your healing time in half. Also, be sure to ice the Achilles tendon before and after exercise.

Qustion:

I have been wearing the Achilles Heel Pad and the gel part on my heel is turning black and very smelly.  What can I do about this?

Answer:

I suspect you are having a reaction to the gel pad itself.  You should consider purchasing a different heel pad, one with more absorbion.

I am a ballroom dancer and suffer from achielles tendonitis pain. Can I wear the achilles heel pad while dancing?

Answer:

The Achilles Heel Pad is designed to use when active, so you could wear it while dancing. I should protect your achilles from irritation while you dance.

Question:

Is is a smart idea to wear the Achilles heel Pad while sleeping?

Answer:

There is no reason why you could not wear The Achilles Heel Pad while sleeping.  In many cases the pad will help to prevent pressure sores.  If you have an problems with poor circulation or diabetes, we suggest that you discuss the use of The Achilles heel Pad with your doctor before use and particularly before wearing while sleeping.

Question:

Do you wear these over socks?

Answer:

We've had customers use them both with and without socks.  Much of the fit of The Achilles Heel Pad depends upon how it feels and supports the tendon.  May be tried either way.
