Our stiff, full-length XLT Carbon Fiber Spring Plate Graphite Insole relieves forefoot, midfoot, and arch pain. The unique rocker sole and toe spring of the Carbon Fiber Spring Plate Graphite Insert provides a small toe spring, enabling roll-off at the forefoot. Sold individually right or left, not as a pair.

Sizing: We strongly suggest that you use length rather than shoe size as the determining factor in deciding which size plate to purchase. The best method is to take an insole out of a shoe you wear regularly and measure it from the back of the heel to the tip of the toe. Choose a plate that is slightly shorter than your insert so that it can be placed underneath the insole of your shoe. If you wear a half-size we recommend the smaller size Spring Plate.
XLT Carbon Fiber Spring Plate - Graphite Insoles are NOT heat moldable.
Because the XLT Carbon Fiber Spring Plate - Graphite Insole is very rigid, does not have a soft top cover, and is one of our thinnest insoles, we suggest wearing it beneath soft insoles - either your shoes' existing insoles or over-the-counter orthotic insoles such as Pedag SOFT Shoe Insoles or Pedag Magic Step Insoles.
It is important to wear your plate in a shoe that does not have a very flexible sole, as the lack of rigidity will put stress on your plate when you flex your foot, which could cause the plate to weaken and crack.

Question: How do I measure my foot for sizing on the Carbon Fiber Spring Plate?
Answer: The actual measurement comes from the sole of the shoe you will be wearing the Spring Plate with. Measure the insole of the shoe from the heel to the tip of the toe and then order a size that is 1/4" shorter. This ensures that the Plate will fit properly under the insole.

If I receive my order and it's not the correct size can I return it?
Answer:
If the product meets the following requirements it can be returned or replaced. It must not show wear, it cannot be damaged by use or modification. It needs to be in the original packaging and it needs to be sent back with a copy of the original order receipt.

Question:
The spring plate is shredding the underside of my rubber sole orthotics. I walk alot during the day. What can I do to protect my orthotic?
Answer:
If the plate is working well for you and you will not be returning it you could try some kind of covering on the plate. We suggest the Pedag Soft Insole, however this might be too much material in your shoe. You could try covering the spring plate with contact paper, it would be colorful and help protect the orthotic. If you need to remove the contact paper try soaking the spring plate in 90% alcohol. That should remove any gumminess caused by the glue.

Will wearing this in only one shoe affect my gait?
Answer:
This plate is very thin; most people do not even notice it is in their shoe after a few days. It should not affect your gait but if you feel uncomfortable about it go ahead and order one for your other foot.

My doctor gave me a prescrition for the Carbon Fiber Spring Plate. Will my insurance cover the cost of these?
Answer:
We do not file insurance claims for you. Is it covered? Maybe. The best way to find out is to call your insurance company and ask them. If they do then ask them what you need to do to get reimbursed.

Question: When I walk with the Carbon Fiber Spring Plate my heel is lifting out of my shoe because of the "spring" in the plate. Is this normal and how can I fix this?
Answer: This is not a complaint I have heard before. If the Spring Plate is giving you relief then the issue with the heel slippage could be fixed with a heel grip like Pedag STOP Heel Grips or even a Tongue Pad placed around the back of the heel in the shoe.

Question: Can I alter the Carbon Fiber Spring Plate to be a 3/4 Plate?
Answer: The mechanical action of the spring in the spring plate is to a great degree based on the fact that the heel anchors the plate. So the midfoot and heel actually are an integral part of what gives the spring plate spring. It would not be very effective if it was modified in this way.

Question: How often should I replace my graphite insoles?
Answer: Depending on how you wear them, they should last anywhere from 6 months to several years. If you feel you are no longer getting any relief from them that would be a good time to consider replacing them.

Answer: Yes, they can. The spring plate acts as a splint or brace for the plantar plate. The toe spring helps to offload the range of motion of the forefoot, decreasing the load appled to the injured plate.

Question: When I wear the spring plate it pushes my toe up into the toe box of the shoe and it is irritating. What can I do to prevent that?
Answer: Try adding a Gel Toe Cap Protector to your toe to keep any irritation from happening. They are thin and lightweight and do not add any bulk to your foot, so your shoe should still fit the same and your toe will be protected.
