Indications - The Co-Flex Bandage is used in the treatment of broken toes, hammer toes, claw toes, and mallet toes.

Foot Care Tip! Think of the Co Flex Bandage as a cast for toes and fingers that can help to mend fractures in three ways. First, wrapping a broken digit stabilizes the fracture and promotes healing. Second, Co Flex controls swelling. Lastly, wrapping a broken digit with Co Flex limits motion, significantly decreasing post-fracture pain.

Question:

Can I use this tape for wrapping my cuboid bone?

Answer:

Yes you can.  Taping the cuboid bone when subluxed is very helpful in getting the cuboid bone back in place.  You might want to make sure you do two to three layers of the tape and double the width so you get the area covered.

Question:

How tight do you wrap this around the toe?

Answer:

Start at the base of the toe and use a smooth, firm, but not tight wrap of Co-Flex. We recommend that you use one to two layers of Co-Flex from the base of the toe to the tip of the toe. Tighter is not better. Just wrap the toe until it's snug.

Question:

Does the Co-Flex Bandage help to straighten the broken toe if used for a long time, so you don't have to have the surgery?

Answer:

If the fracture is relatively new (1-3 weeks), then yes it certainly can. But if the fracture is completely healed, Co-Flex won't make much of a difference in it.
