Question:
My daughter is a dancer and suffers from achielles tendonitis pain. Can she wear the achilles tendon support by pro tec while she is dancing and for how many hours a day can she wear it?
Answer:
The Achilles Tendon Support is designed to use when active, so I would think she could wear it while dancing. However, if she is highly active when dancing, it may not stay in place - she'll have to try it and see.
Question:
Will the Pro-Tec Achilles Tendon Support fit children?
Answer:
It is hard to say whether this will fit a child: it is very adjustable, but the strap that goes underneath the foot and attaches to the sides of the ankles measures 6.5", and can be shortened about an inch. You would need to try it and see if it fits.

Question:
Just wondering if my son who is 13 plays basketball he has trouble with his Achilles tendon; pain accrues more when he is active. Is this product right for him or do you recommend something else?
Answer:
The Achilles Tendon Support is a good choice for your son to wear while playing basketball. Also, ice it down after play to reduce his pain and any swelling he may have. Please read our article on Achilles Tendonitis to learn more about his problem and what you can do to treat his tendonitis.
Question:
Will this brace help the knot on the lower back of my heel? I have to wear athletic shoes all day and the pain is horrible.
Answer:
Be sure to read our article on insertional Achilles Tendonitis and Haglund’s deformity. Both will present with a bump at the back of the heel. Using the Achilles tendon support will not make the bump go away. The best way to approach both Haglund’s and Achilles tendonitis would be to use a heel lift in conjunction with the Achilles tendon support. If the problem is a Haglund’s deformity, the lift helps to raise the heel above the pressure from the shoe counter (back of the heel). If the problem is insertional Achilles tendonitis, the heel lift will help to weaken the pull of the calf and Achilles on the back of the heel.
