Gel Heel Cushions are long-lasting shoe wedges perfect for chronic heel pain, shock absorption, and pressure relief. Gel Heel Cushions are made of low durometer, high-performance, reusable polyurethane silicone gel that will not collapse with use. The bottom is adhesive-backed, providing the option of sticking the pad to the shoe. The top of the Gel Heel Cushion has a silver antimicrobial surface that fights bacterial and fungal infections. Indications - Gel Heel Cushions are used in the treatment of generalized heel pain, Baxter's nerve entrapment, and fat pad atrophy. For plantar fasciitis, heel spur syndrome, Achilles tendonitis, or Sever's Disease, a thicker, firmer heel lift or heel cushion will be more effective.

Question:

I have been suffering from plantar fasciitis for quite some time. How is a heel lift going to help?

Answer:

The Heel Cushions are NOT a heel lift. A heel lift will raise the heel and weaken the mechanical forces applied to the foot by the calf easing plantar fasciitis pain and allowing the plantar fascia and Achilles tendon to heal.

Question:

I've tried a lot of pads for my plantar fasciitis but none seem to work. Are these a better pad for plantar fasciitis?

Answer:

The first thing I'd recommend is to read our knowledge base article on plantar fasciitis. What you'll learn is that much of the treatment of plantar fasciitis is focused on treating tightness in the calf by stretching and using a heel lift. These Reusable Gel Heel Cushions are too squishy to lift the heel, which is necessary to treat Plantar fasciitis. For nonspecific heel pain we find that gel heel pads work well. But for cases of plantar fasciitis we tend to use a thicker pad like the heel lift or Oppo Gel Heel Spur Pad.

Question:

Can I trim these to fit into different shoes?

Answer:

Sure can. They're very easily trimmed with scissors.
