Question:
If I'm stretching by day with a calf stretching block, do I still need to stretch at night with a night splint?
Answer:
That is up to you - if you are making sufficient progress with stretching exercises, then you don't need to use the night splint. However, if your symptoms are not lessening with just the day time stretches, a night splint will help heal your plantar fascia more quickly.
Question:
You sell several kinds of night splints. Is the dorsal splint as good as the others? Does it stretch the plantar fascia?
Answer:
What makes Dorsal Night Splint different from the other plantar fasciitis night splints we carry is that because the brace is on top of your foot, you can walk with it on. They all stretch your plantar fascia while you sleep, but this one allows you to walk without taking the brace off. In terms of how much they stretch? The Dorsal Night Splint should be considered a mild stretch while the posterior night splints are a bit more aggressive in their stretch.
Question:
My foot dr diagnosed me with equinus and wrote out a script for an Adjustable Night Splint for DX Equinus Certracture L Foot. Would this be the correct night splint for me?
Answer:
Sure would be. If you're industrious by nature and would do the stretches by day, I'd vote in favor of just ordering the calf stretching block. If you're a person who would forget to stretch, then I'd also purchase a dorsal night splint. Both products will work for you.
Question:
Would this night splint help with a nodule on my plantar fascia i have.. I am looking to help ease the pain of it when i get up in the morning.. thanks
Answer:
I spoke with our medical director, and he said that the night splint might not be the best bet for your nodule. If you haven't already done so, read our article on Plantar Fibromatosis, and then consult your doctor.
Question:
I am wondering if this will really work for a size W6.5 shoe size wearing gal. I have tried several products meant for up to size W10 and found that they really don't work on the smaller foot because the part meant to go around the ball of the foot is just too far forward and ends up around the toes. Have you had any feedback in this regard?
Answer:
We have not had any feedback from customers about how our Dorsal Night Splint fits on a small woman's foot. I would suggest you give it a try and see how it fits; you can always return it if it is too big for you. If you do try it out, we would love to know whether it fits a tiny woman's foot!
