Question:
I have been diagnosed with hammer toes. On one foot, the hammer toe bends, but on the other it is rigid. Will this be a good product to try?
Answer:
This would be a great product to try. The Tubular Foam Toe Bandages can help to cushion both the top and the bottom of the hammer toes.

Question:
Would the tube foam toe bandages help straighten out the little toe when I have a bunionette, or at least prevent it from worsening? I have had this condition for about five years and it slowly worsens. The little toe is now beginning to press in against the 4th toe. I wear the metatarsal pads to ease pain in the forefoot, and shoes with a wider toe bed, but I would just like to prevent the toe bowing from getting worse and becoming a more serious problem. In other words, not just looking for comfort, looking for something to stop the process.
Answer:
The fact that they're a tube may help to maintain the toe in a straight position. And, with scissors, you can fashion the tube foam in a way to cover the bunionette. You might be able to kill two birds with one 'pad'. Tube foam won't stop the progress of your goe turning, but it could keep it in place while you are up and about.
Question:
I see in the picture for this product that you're using it to cover the side of the foot. Can you describe how to cut the pad to cover a tailor's bunion?
Answer:
Cut a piece of tube foam that is about twice the length of the 5th toe. Hold the tube foam up to the toe and mark the spot that would correlate with the base of the toe (between the 4/5 toes). Using scissors, at the mark, cut half way into the pad and then change direction heading away from the toe. This will create the tail that will cover the bunionette.
Question:
Can tubular foam toe bandages be hand washed and reused? I use them when I do my aerobic walking and they get sweaty. The sweat seems to absorb well in the bandages and they are not wet when I take them off. If I rewear tubular foam toe banadages without washing them, will the dried sweat be in any way harmful to my toes (creating fungus, etc.)?
Answer:
Our Tubular Foam Toe Bandages can be hand washed in warm soapy water, but make sure they are dry before you reuse them. Using them without washing them can increase the risk of fungal or bacterial infections, so keeping them clean is your best bet. You can also disinfect them with our Tineacide Shoe Spray, which disinfects against bacteria and fungus.
