Question:
I have been diagnosed with hammer toes. On one foot, the toes will still bend, but on the other, they will not. Will this be a good product to help?
Answer: The Hammer Toe Crest Pad Gel will be a really good option for the foot that the toes no longer bend on. For the foot that has toes that are still able to bend, I would recommend our Toe Straighteners, ToeCorrectorss or Tubular Foam Bandages.

Question:
I have neuropathy in my feet from Charcot-Marie-Tooth. Are these gel crest pads all right for people with neuropathy?
Answer:
One of the primary problems we see with CMT is contraction of the toes (hammer toes). The term hammer toe comes from the way that the tip of the toe hammers against the ground. The gel crest pads are a great solution for that. Crest pads are also called buttress pads. The crest pad holds the toe up off of the ground so that it cannot hammer and become callused. Good choice for CMT.
Question:
Are the gel pads okay to use for people wtih border line diabetes?
Answer:
Caution should be used with this or any pad that may possibly inhibit circulation in patients with diabetes or poor circulation, but the gel band that wraps around the toe is relatively stretchy and soft. Because it is fairly soft, this pad may be a better choice than others with elastic bands.
Question:
I was told that if I were to use a type of toe straightener for hammer toes that it may do away with having surgery. What pad would you recommend for this that I could wear with my shoe?
Answer:
It depends on whether your hammertoe is flexible or rigid. Hammer toes will progress from flexible to rigid over time. If it is still flexible, you could try a single or double toe straightener. If they are rigid, a foam crest pad, gel crest pad, or adjustable rubber crest pad would be a better choice. Here's a link to all of our hammer toe products.
Question:
My right foot had surgery years ago and now left with my fourth toe bending down and over to the right and a pinky toe that looks like a weiner! I need something for the fourth and fifth toe, but can't seem to find anything
Answer:
The Hammertoe Crest Pad may work on your 4th toe, but is primarily designed to help with hammer toes, rather than toes that push against another toe. I would suggest you take a look at our 3pp Toe Loops, and our Co-flex. All of these would act as a splint for your 4th toe, allowing it to straighten out and lay flat.
Question:
I have mild hammer toes - the second, third, forth and little toe. Will this product help all the four toes. If not what would you advise.
Answer:
The Gel Hammer Toe Crest Pad works especially well with mild hammer toes, as it is intended to fill the space underneath your curved toes, to help support them. If your hammer toes are still flexible and you wish to press them down into a straighter position, you might want to take a look at our Double Toe Straightener.
