Question:
I have Baxter's Nerve Entrapment. Which of your products will help relieve my pain? I really don't want to have surgery.
Answer:
Baxter's Nerve Entrapment refers to an entrapment of the calcaneal branch of the posterior tibial nerve (Baxter's Nerve). Baxter's entrapment results in plantar heel pain. Pronation (foot rolling inward) or flattening of the arch may also contribute to increased pressure. Some of the best products to help with this pain would be products that raise the heel and take the pressure off the nerve. Products that keep you from pronating the foot would also help.
The Pedag SPORT insert promotes a longitudinal arch which helps with pronation and heel cushions that help absorb shock, reducing heel pain.

Question:
What causes shin splints and what can I do to help prevent them?
Answer:
Shin splints are caused by stress on the shin bone and connective tissues that attach to the muscles and bones. We all know the pain that can be caused by them. Fallen arches can also be a contributing factor to shin splints. So the best way to help prevent them is with arch support. Pedag SPORT Inserts are great for this.

Question:
Can these be cut down to fit in shoes? My 13 yr. old wears a 4 1/2. and am wondering since there is so few sizes if they can be cut down.
Answer:
Since this Pedag top cover is made from foam you could cut them to size, but I can't say for sure how the arch is going to line up. The smallest size we currently have is a Euro 38, or a Women's 8. It is about 10" long, and 3" wide at the arch.
Question:
Would these be a good choice for tennis?
Answer:
Excellent choice. Tennis is a multi-directional sport which makes you very prone to blisters. The top cover on the XCO is great for preventing blisters.
Question:
Are these the kind of inserts that I can move from shoe to shoe?
Answer:
They can, but full length inserts are going to be tougher to do so because you're going to have different shapes on the toe box of each style of shoe. We'll usually recommend that you use the Pedag XCO for your rec shoes and use the Pedag Viva Mini as the insert that you move from shoe to shoe. The Pedag Viva Mini is a 3/4 length insert. A 3/4 length insert will require no modification as you go from shoe to shoe. It's a little bit different insert but much more amenable to moving from shoe to shoe.
Question:
If you wear a half size shoe should you size up or down with these inserts? I wear a 10 and a half, so should I buy the 10 or the 11 size?
Answer:
If you wear a 1/2 size, Pedag recommends you buy the next larger size. The forefoot on the Pedag Pro-Active XCO can be trimmed with scissors if it is too long.
Question:
Are these the best inserts for people who are physically active? And do the Pedag Vivas and Pedag Viva Mini inserts have as much support? I am an active PE teacher and I have a tendency towards plantar fasciitis; I have flat feet and a neuroma that has recently developed.
Answer:
The Pedag Viva Full Length and Pedag Viva Mini Iserts do have as much support, but have a leather top layer. They are great to use in dress shoes, or any shoes that don't have as much room for a thicker foam full length insert like the Pro-Active. The Pedag Pro-Active is a very good choice for someone who is physically active, as they offer great shock absorption, firm arch support, a soft heel cushion, and a metatarsal pad for your neuroma. If they don't alleviate your plantar fasciitis pain, you may want to consider using a heel lift.
Question:
Are these designed to go on top of the existing insert in your boot or are they to be used alone?
Answer:
Two inserts never really make for better arch support. The best way to use this and any other orthotic is going to be to remove the existing arch support in the boot or shoe and replace it with the new insert. In some cases, the existing insert in the boot or shoe will not be removable. In that case, you'll need to do the best you can by placing the new arch over the old, but again, that's a less than optimal way to go about it.
Question:
Will the Pedag Pro-Active XCO insert help with capsulitis pain in the metatarsal area of the foot? I will use them in my running shoes as well as my everyday shoes.
Answer:
Yes - the Pedag Pro-Active XCO Insert has a built-in metatarsal pad that will help with your capsulitis, and is designed for sports and high levels of activity.
Question:
I am interested in purchasing the Pedag Pro-Active XCO Insoles. However, I do not need a pair. Is it possible to buy just 2 left foot inserts as a pair? I like Dr. Oster's Video on the felt metatarsal Pads/ explanation of Morton's Neuroma.
Answer:
No, I'm sorry ~ the Pedag Pro-Active only come as a pair. Thanks for the compliment though!
